While many people over zealously
announce even the faintest celebrity connection, Marvin Gaye’s
grandchildren showed remarkable reticence during their X Factor
auditions.
Instead of
plugging their link to the musical legend, his three grandchildren kept
their mouths shut and let their talent do the talking. Performing
under the name of ‘Roxxy Montana,’ the three sassy sisters from Detroit
were simply announced as a girl group who hope to ‘inject a bit of
Motown flair’ to the proceedings
The girls, who are in their early twenties, nailed Jennifer Hudson’s soaring track One Night Only from the Dreamgirls movie.‘It’s
been a long time since we’ve had a girl group who absolutely sings
their faces off,’ enthused judge andDestiny’s Child founder Kelly
Rowland.
‘This is
potentially one of the best groups we’ve ever had on X Factor,’ said
father-to-be Simon Cowell, while conceding that didn’t include the
groups he has ‘put together himself’ such as One Direction.
